Day 2 - First day at the Job-site!!

Guido 2013 HANDS Team:

Our first night here was a breeze except that three of the boys (guess who?) decided to fall asleep on the roof & found they were locked out at 3am.

The drive down was an adventure in itself. There is so much to see on the busy streets of Santo Domingo such as varouis colourful shops, many motorclycle taxis and buses crammed full of people!

Well rested and eager to work, we left for the busy roads of Santo Domingo. Arriving at the job sight we went straight to work, moving dirt, mixing cement and sanding walls. The day was very hot but thankfully no one got burnt! :) We also met a lot of young students and attempted to speak with them with the little spanish we know, such as hola and sa nombre (your name).

Covered in dirt and cement, we returned to the ministry center and all took showers right away:) We were treated to a delicious dinner and then played a fun game of volleyball with some of the Dominican kids!
