more rebar more holes

Grimsby 2016 HANDS Team:

Yesterday, we finished making all the rebar stirrups, today we finished tying all the rebar columns, and the ombres finished digging all 15 holes, no small feat, when the average age of your group is sixty something.

Begs the question: can't the Nicaraguans dig their own holes, tie their own rebar and make their own stirrups?

In a word: yes.

The same yes that applies to everything else when spokein of in theoretical form. Then there's that gap...you know the one...between theory and reality.

Gets you everytime don't it?

As it applies to this situration, for example: our Nicaraguan friends see with their own eyes, that they have not only not been forgotten, but that the gringos care enough to show up and help with the work, as opposed to just sending the cash. This has proven to not only be very encouraging for them, also building in a certain amount of accountablility, the proverbial shot in the arm as it were. They must initiate the process, by applying to EduDeo for assistance with THEIR school building.

Your welcome!

And as far as the benefits to us gringos: it is deeply humbling to witness the state we would find ourselves in, had we not been born in a country rife with opportunity.  We see first hand that we are blessed far more than we can even comprehend in this little snippet of time. If we intend to survive our overabundance, we must share it! In blessing, we are blessed.

So you can see, how digging holes and tying rebar really CAN bring true happiness, because digging holes and tying rebar means that untold number of kids will be freed from the bondage of poverty.

Don't believe me? Come on down here and see for yourself. It's like magic
