thursday evening

Grimsby HANDS Team:

Greetings from Managua!

Today was another great day on the jobsite.  At around 11:25 this morning the LAST bucket of concrete went up to the roof!  The kids at Bautista Emanuel now officially have a concrete second storey on their school.

While we were working this morning, the teachers were having a meeting with teachers and principals from other Christian schools in the area.  During their opening devotions, we suddenly heard beautiful singing coming from the adjoining church.  Wow, could they sing!  Most of us stopped working for a few moments to stand at the doors or the windows of the church and worship with them.  Amazing!

In the afternoon, many pieces of steel were cut, cleaned and painted.  Also, the downstairs classrooms had their floors cleared to get ready for tiles and some electrical work was completed.

By around 3:30, we were done work for the day. We headed back to the guest house to get our suitcases and Lester strapped them securely to the rack on top of the van.  We headed back to Managua, downhill all the way.  The scenery was increadible on the way back, deep valleys, tall mountains and even the Pacific ocean in the distance.  We returned to the Nehemiah Centre and after unloading the van, pastor Sid immediately broke out the camera to chase down as many different kinds of birds as he could (the man is loving the birds here).

After dinner, we discovered that the Nehemiah Center owns a shoelbak!!  A tournament has been arranged and the winner will be announced tomorrow.

Tomorrow is a learning day for us.  We plan to visit different Christian schools in the area and different projects that EduDeo has been involved with in and around Managua.  We're looking forward to that.

We're thankful that everyone on the team is still healthy and happy and that there were no accidents on the jobsite this week.  God is good!

till next time

I laughed at the mental picture of pastor Sid chasing down the birds :)

Looks like a lot of hard work team.

Mmmm, haven't spotted Pastor Sid in the work shots. Either he's taking the pictures or ... chasing birds??? ;)

Praying you all stay healthy.
