early Thursday

Grimsby HANDS Team:

Good morning

It's early Thursday morning and it looks like another beautiful day in Dariamba.  The morning's cool and it's windy again (according to Lester, it's going to be windy here for the next couple of months).  This morning we are packing up all of our stuff because we'll be headed off to Managua after work today.

After dinner last night, we had an opportunity to listen to Consuelo, the principal of the school where we're working.  We were all touched and amazed at her faith and commitment.  She told us the story of how the school came from (very) humble beginnings and how God told her that this is what she was called to do.  Once she felt God's call, she went forward in faith.  There were times when there was no money to pay teachers but she prayed to God to provide and He has always provided richly.  Consuelo and her husband have four children, all with university degrees, another sign of God's blessings and of the love of education that they have instilled in their family.

We met her son Raphael as well.  He is an english and computer teacher.  His mother hopes that some day he will succeed her as principal at Bautista Emanuel.  He translated for his mom and is also a man of deep faith.  We were all truly blessed listening to both of their stories.

Now it's off to breakfast and then to work.

hasta la vista

Just sending a note saying that I came home the same day! I appreciate the prayers from my church family so much! So much to be thankful for - God is so good!!!
