Today the ladies of our group went to visit a wonderful place named 'Tresures of God'.  A facility for special needs children, offering ocupational, cognitive, physical and equine (horse) therapy.  A medical team from the States was down assisting for the week, helping to anyalze and formulate therapy programs for the children.  The parents/caregivers of the kids join the children during their visit to also learn the therapy, so they in turn can continue treatment in the home.

Learning 2 comments


The past two days have been all about Learning and Culture.  On Friday we went and saw some of the amazing work God is doing in Nicaragua through Christian schools.  We toured 3 schools that EduDeo has done building projects for and met 3 amazing women that are the Directors of those schools.

Blocks, Stumps & Concrete. 3 comments

Today was our heaviest work day to date, we started the morning with unloading in chain-gang fashion 500 cement blocks. We were not able to unload the blocks at our jobsite, as they would not be there if we hoped to see them the next day.  We did unload them in to the church that is part of the Christian School.  The church is a 2 min walk to the jobsite, it doesn't sound very far, but when the guys need to carry over 100lb cement bags they might disagree with you.

We have arrived! 5 comments

Thanks be to God, for the opportunity to serve in Nicaragua, and for bringing us here safely! After an uneventful pair of flights, all the members of our team met up in Houston, after which we arrived late yesterday into Managua to meet out hosts, Peter and Trudy Kuipers. They got us over to the Nehemiah center which will be our home for the next 10 days.
