Day 2 of our adventure

Brantford HANDS Team:

Good morning family and friends or eveningdepending on when you are reading this. we all had a fantastic sleep last nite and started with a breakfast of rice and beans and fruit. Then we all packed up loaded the van and headed to chicanagau. A 2 hour exciting ride through tight streets and beautiful country roads looking at all the sites outof our windows. At one point in our travel fred was so overwhelmed the beauty of the landscape that he fell into the arms of his fellow passanger for comfort!! On our travels we also saw a live volcano in the.  distance. We found our new home for the next few days unloaded the van grabbed what we needed and headed to the jobsite to start our work.

We made it to the school and were welcomed with great excitement all of us eager to serve in anyway we can, intruductions were made the jobsite was evaluated and we all found something to do. Some of us were digging some were mixing concrete some were hauling concrete all these jobs are done with 5 gallon buckets. I would just like to say that the weather here in january is very hot unlike the weather were use to in canada. As the work progressed so did the fun between us 12 men and the men here on site even with a langauge barrier. Actually talking about heat we found Rick hidding from it inside the church laying on a bench with his eyes closed he claims he was praying,, we are not convinced!

Before we left the site we had the fantastic oppurtuty to play some baseball with some local kids on the street that was awesome. Loaded up all of us dirty tired and ready to have a shower and relax a little we  headed back to our hotel. After a bit of relaxing and dinner devotions were done and cards were played and sleep was had. what a great day we had and what an awesome and great God we serve in a great kingdom. Until next time

Hi Team!

Thanks for the update. Sounds like it was a great first work day. You've all jumped right into the work but are seeing lots of the country. So glad to hear that things are going well.

Looking forward to hearing more as the week progresses. We are praying for you!

Thank you for the updates! I can tell there are so many more stories behind those words... We are thankful that you are all safe and working hard and having fun. Many blessings to you all from a very frosty night in Brantford. Do you miss the cold yet?!
