Day 9: Work Day 6

Barrie HANDS Team:

This morning we were very productive in our rebar tying, form making, and concrete pouring.  We were so productive, in fact, that we were sent to look at three other schools in the area.  The first school we visited was Redeemer Presbyterian School.  It is currently being used mostly as a preschool. There we observed the work of prior HANDS teams and the impact that they can have on the ministry of that school.

The second school we toured was Emmanuel Presbyterian School; it was a wonderful example of what a community can accomplish.  The bulk of the work had been completed by fundraising and local volunteers; however, they are thinking of possibly hosting a future HANDS team.  The final school we saw was New Life Christian School.  The principal, Ruth, shared her testimony about how God had called her to lead this school.  She shared how rewarding it is to follow God’s plans.  Many prior HANDS team had also played a role in this story (see the link:  https://edudeo.com/get-inspired/schools/new-life-christian-school/ )

In the evenings we have been sharing devotions together.  We have been sharing what faith means to us, and how God builds foundations on the Rock.  We have been wondering what God’s purpose is for us as a team and as individuals.  While this trip has been rewarding for all of us, we wonder what God is building in our lives through this experience.  Pray for us as we continue to discern how this adventure will factor into God’s plan for us.

Thank you for your support.  Please continue to pray for our health and safety.

Well done to you all. You must be very

proud of what you have accomplished.

Have a safe trip home and don't worry,

about half of the snow is gone so you

shouldn't have any flight or driving problems. Take care - Nain

Way to go. I've been checking up with your progress every day, but haven't left a comment yet, so figured it was time. We are looking forward to welcoming you all back to Barrie and hearing about your experiences.

Grace and Peace,
