Day 7: Church and Rest

Barrie HANDS Team:

Today we were blessed to worship with the Presbyterian Church in Cristo Rey.  The message and a lot of the singing was in Spanish, although they also sang two songs in English so we were able to sing along with those.

Some of us went to Catechism class, and that was in English, rather than staying in the service for the sermon. It was agreed by some of our team mates that it was odd to be back in a classroom setting surronded by students. Each Catechism class presented what they learned infront of the church, this may have been a highlight for some of us because the young children were so cute.

After church we headed back to our hotel to have a period of rest. This time was used to have a siesta (afternoon nap), while others took this time to read, walk, play games, and explore.

The rest of the day has been fairly restful, besides the crazy euchre games that involve loud shouts of joy and despair.

Tomorrow we will be back at the school, and we will be continuing our work. We ask that you continue to pray for our health and safety as we go back to work.

Great to hear you all had a restful day! Belize looks beautiful and must have been a blessing to worship in another language and be a part of the greater church throughout the world! looks like an intense eucure game. Gods continued blessing and protection on all of you as you continue to work for the glory of God in building this school for the poor children of Belize! Our prayers are with you.

We wonder if Grandpa chose the siesta or the wild game of euchre!?! We pray you have a good day back at work!!

Beautiful pictures of the landscape (and Leo's flower)! The pictures of the worksite say a lot - thanks for including so many and a blog every day. I can see how disappointing a busted column would be. We pray for you with thanks for safety thus far and hard work with adequate rest. PS. thanks for the note about kids there doing chores - puts a little fuel in our kids' tanks :)
