Back in Canada 1 comment

Our Team:

We are back in Canada now.  We just landed, and we are in Pearson right now.  Thank you to everyone who supported us along the way.  We look forward to sharing the stories of our adventure with our friends and family, but first... sleep.

We all agree that this adventure was FANTASTIC!

Day 10: Work Day 7 4 comments

Today was our last day of work, and we started the day with a special chapel with the entire school. The children enjoyed watching a short skit by some of our team members, and then they heard a short message from Leo. We taught the school a new song, and they taught us a song in Spanish. They concluded the chapel by giving each of us a number of cards that the students had made. Every student was given a name of one of our team members, and they made us cards thanking us for our hard work. We choked back tears as the children came up and gave us our cards along with big hugs.

Day 9: Work Day 6 3 comments

This morning we were very productive in our rebar tying, form making, and concrete pouring.  We were so productive, in fact, that we were sent to look at three other schools in the area.  The first school we visited was Redeemer Presbyterian School.  It is currently being used mostly as a preschool. There we observed the work of prior HANDS teams and the impact that they can have on the ministry of that school.

Day 8: Work Day 5 2 comments

Monday always feels the same, in every workplace, and in every country.  Don't get us wrong, it does bring us sincere joy to serve Belizeans and God in our temporary workplace, but after a wonderful weekend filled with rest, the alarm clock seemed a little harsh this morning.
