A Teacher at Monte Hermon

If you look closely at this picture, Rejna doesn’t look that much older than her students. In fact it was just last year that she wore a school uniform and sat in at wooden desk, learning at Monte Hermon’s high school. After graduating, Rejna was enthusiastic to continue learning at university, but she felt so attached to Monte Hermon that she didn’t want to leave. Now Rejna does both! She is studying pedagogy at Martin Luther University and teaching English at many grade levels at Monte Hermon. She even comes back to Monte Hermon at night to teach adults how to read, write, and speak English!

Growing up in the community around Monte Hermon has given Rejna a big heart for the students here. Rejna feels that it is her God-given calling to teach. She is young, but she is a bright teacher and enjoys sharing what she knows with her students. All of her lessons are shaped by the close loving relationship she has with Christ. Rejna hopes to equip her students to be able to communicate with people in English-speaking countries. The day this photo was taken, Rejna was teaching her students telephone manners and how to verbally share a phone number. She hopes that with this greater communication she will equip her students to reach their big goals, wherever God may lead them.
