Miriam, a teacher from Centro De Estudio Azerias shared a story of transformation with Learning Leaders Bob Koole and Tena Siebenga-Valstar when they visited her school:

Two young boys came to the school from two different families.

Even though they were only six years old, the boys had already been rejected by other schools because of their unacceptable behaviour.

The parents pleaded with the school to accept them. The boys did not want to be in the Christian school. Because of their background and behavioral difficulties, they could not make eye contact with anyone. They did not want to work with others.

The boys were showered with love by a team of teachers whose aim was to show them they were loved, welcomed and valued.

It was six months before the boys showed signs of responding. It was a gradual slow process but - praise God - after two years the boys began to be part of the school family which shared God’s love and the meaning of community.
