Maria is the principal at Pequeño Benjamin School.  She comes from a family of 8, growing up with 5 brothers.  As result, she always had to help a lot around the house.  Her mother cleaned and ironed at people’s homes, and Maria often helped her.  When she was 14 years old, she started her own first formal job, cleaning for people.  At 19, her father inspired her to take university entrance exams.  She was accepted.  At 23 she got married, and at 24 she came to know Jesus.  Maria and her husband have 3 children, aged 11, 9 and 7.  Their children all attend Pequeño Benjamin School.  Her husband works in an office in Tipitapa.  Maria has been principal at Pequeño Benjamin School for 7 years, and was a teacher at her own church’s school prior to that.  Watching Maria interact with her students is very special.  They speak to her easily and intimately – she shows them that she really cares for them.
