Shanirie began at Presbyterian Day School as a pre-schooler. She loved the atmosphere of the school and found it more a friendly and uplifting environment. However, a lack of classroom space at one point prompted Shanirie's parents to send her to a different school for a year. Shanirie noticed a huge difference between the two schools and despite the poorer facility, she returned to PDS the very next year where she feels at home.

When asked why Shanirie and her family wanted her to come back to PDS, Shanirie said,

"I think that the difference [at] PDS is what you learn...at PDS, God is first."

Shanirie thrives on the education that she receives at PDS as she learns to see the world as God see it. She is eager to learn how her life fits into His plan for her community and is willing to do whatever he calls her to do. Shanirie wants to make God first in her life, like he is primary at her school, but she also knows that many in her community do not live this way. She hopes that in the future all people will put God first in their life.
