A Student at Hoya Basic School

Rhoda is a 17 year old orphan.  Her parents died when she was a baby.  She lives with her uncle, who has 5 school-aged children.  Rhoda started school in 2005.  The free primary education policy allowed her to afford primary education. By 2012 she was selected to enter grade 8 at Hoya Basic School, but she lacked sponsorship.  In addition, she also had difficulty getting finances together for books, uniforms, as well as the food and groceries she needed to purchase as she is a boarder.  Friends helped her when she ran out of food.  As result, Rhoda was forced to leave school several times, and this affected her ability to perform well at school.  In 2013 she was introduced to CCAP for help.  She had given up hope to be in school again, but by God’s grace she has hope again!  Rhoda prays to God to continue blessing CCAP and their partners in Canada for the good job they are doing.
