A Student at Monte Hermon

When you’re 9 years old there is an unspoken competition to be the tallest student in the class. However, in the grade 3 class at Monte Hermon in Nicaragua, there is a clear winner. Nolan, age 23, sits at the back of the classroom clearly bigger than all of his classmates. He’s even taller than his teacher!

Nolan decided to come to school as a young adult so that he could get a good enough education to start a promising career. He is a hard worker and perseveres in his studies. He even comes back at nights to learn more.

At Monte Hermon, Nolan learns more than he expected. All of Nolan’s subjects are taught in a way that shares the message of the Gospel. He looks at the world through a much difference lens than he did as a child. Now he sees God’s hand behind everything and entrusts his future to Him. Nolan hopes that the people he grew up with will recognize the change in his life and it will be an opportunity to share what he has learned at Monte Hermon.
