A Student at Emusa Day High School

I have felt the pain; you can always talk of a lion when it is far from you. I never thought to be an orphan it feels like this, and I will never mistreat the orphan.

I’m Loveness N. and I was born on 7th July 1996 in Lundazi district. My parents were both Tumbukas by tribe. I’m residing at my uncle’s house - my parents died in 2009 and we have been raised by my uncle who is a farmer with a big family. I’m the first born from a family of five.

My favourite place to be is a quiet place where I can think back on the love of my mum and dad. I shed tears when I think too much of how my uncle treats us at home. I wish my mum and dad could be there to provide for us.  My parents went so fast when we needed them most.

My uncle struggles to be able to afford to send his own children to school, and since my four younger siblings and I joined the family he has prioritized his own children’s education.  There have been times when he has been able to pay my school fees, but he required me to pay for books, uniform, and other school requirements, which was impossible for me since I had no paid employment.

But grace was offered to me through Emusa Secondary School.  I was offered a scholarship for grade 10, and this gave me strength, restored my hope and allowed me to feel loved.

I personally see God working at my school, especially through inspiring and encouraging teachers. I have learned a lot as I learn with fellow students from different backgrounds, and as we come together to pray and sing praises to God.  I feel loved and encouraged, and am so thankful to God for giving me the opportunity to access education through CCAP and its partner from Canada.

I would like to become a nurse after completing my secondary education, so that I can serve my community as God’s beloved daughter.

My prayer requests
- God to transform my uncle
- God to fully intervene in my brothers' and sisters' education
- God to give me wisdom to complete my education
