A Student at Mphamba Basic School

For much of his early life, John only knew rejection and hopelessness. Both of John’s parents died when he was young and he was neglected by most of his relatives. He developed cancer in his leg and had to undergo a partial amputation as a result. The neglect of his family and his physical disability left John feeling hopeless and without a purpose.

John was taken in by his step-brother and reached grade 9 with his help. By grade 10, however, his step-brother could no longer afford to pay John’s tuition. With no means to continue schooling, John lost hope a second time.

Thankfully, with the support of EduDeo Ministries, the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) sponsored John’s education. John’s hope is restored and he’s excited to continue his education through secondary school. In the future, John looks forward to sharing the blessing he received with his community. “Today I am helped,” John says. “My task is to help someone tomorrow.”
