A Student at Renacer

Jennifer is 16 years old, in grade 11 and has been attending Renacer in the Dominican Republic since grade 2, but she feels blessed to be still at such a God-fearing school. Her father was recently in an accident and could no longer work, which meant that the family couldn’t afford her tuition. It was a very stressful time for her Jennifer because she feels so at home at her school that she compares the teachers to parents. She says they are the best part about Renacer and she couldn’t imagine what her life would be like if she no longer attended school. So Jennifer did what she had done so many times at school – she prayed.

And God answered her prayer in a bigger way than she imagined. All of her teachers pitched in and awarded Jennifer an internal scholarship. They recognise her as an excellent student with lots of potential and wanted to ensure that she continued her education at Renacer. Furthermore, Jennifer was able to pray with her father and he is now a Christian too! Jennifer knows that God is real because he is active in her life. She says, “God has brought a change in my life. He has become the most important and I live for Him. He is not a distant God.”

Jennifer became a Christian five years ago and enjoys participating in her school’s chapels. In class, you can find her studying with her Bible open right beside her textbook. Her favourite subject is math because she has a really inspiring math teacher. She hopes to become an accountant someday, but first and foremost she is a Christian. She believes that God will use her as a Christian accountant to bring a positive influence to her community.
