A Student at Monte Hermon

Georgina (pictured with the school’s founder, Daniel Aragón) is in Grade 9 at Monte Hermón. She is close with her teachers and has a generous laugh. Georgina enjoys learning at her school in Nicaragua and daily discovers new things that cause her to marvel at God’s splendour. However, Georgina’s life has always been so joyful.

After having a miscarriage at the age of 13, she came to a turning point in her life. When she was pregnant, Georgina was filled with questions. She didn’t know how to be a mother when still felt like a child. After the initial devastation of her miscarriage, Georgina enrolled as a student in a Christ-centered school and began to see hope. Coming to Monte Hermón helped bring about a dramatic change in Georgina’s life, but it wasn’t an easy transformation. “At first I didn’t want to study and was on a destructive path. The power of God changed my life,” she said. Georgina knows that life isn’t without its sufferings, but she has learned that there is joy in sorrow. She knows that God has guided her life and has plans for her. He has given her hope and a future.

Now Georgina helps with adult literacy classes in the evenings and was recently baptised in the neighbouring church!
