A Student at Nueva Creacion de Fe

Let’s allow Andreina to speak for herself:

“My name is Andreina. I am 12 years old and I live in Batey Bievenido in the Manoguayabo area. I am a student at Nueva Creacion de Fe Christian School.

Since I was very small I have studied at this school along with three of my brothers.  We all got scholarships to study at Nueva Creacion de Fe.  Because I was the third of six siblings and was very young, there was many confusing situations going on in my family that I could not understand, until the day I saw my father pack his clothes and left home, abandoning us all without any support.  My mother was left to take care of us alone.  Without my father supplying for us, we suffered a lot.  My mother had to go out trying to earn some money doing the laundry and cleaning houses, which provided barely enough to put food on our table.  If it was not for the scholarship the school gave us, there was no way we could have been able to attend school.  The public school was not an option because it was usually overcrowded and the quality of education poorer.

We are so grateful to the school and its principal Fe Maria for making room for us even when we cannot pay for their services.  This has given us an opportunity to continue growing, learning and dreaming for a better future.  My dream is one day to complete my schooling, get a degree and be able to provide for my mom and contribute to the school that is investing so significantly in our life and future.”
