A Student at Emusa Day High School

I am  Agness  Kumwenda.  I am a pupil at Emusa Day Secondary school - aged 20, in grade 12. Life is like a journey – you do not know exactly what is on the way.

God called my mum and dad to be with Him, and so - while we wait for Jesus' return - we are three in my family - two sisters and a brother.  Before my mother died, she told me “my daughter, respect any elderly person because they are more like your parents.” So I kept my mum’s words - I always strive to respect those above me and I put God first in my life.

The major challenge I have been going through is school fees since I don’t have someone to pay them for me. Emusa Day Secondary school is not able to help me financially, though I have received a lot of encouragement from my teachers and friends. If I did not pay, they had no choice but to send me away, and as result I missed lessons and my performances was badly affected.

I am very thankful that CCAP Education Department has now awarded me with a scholarship.  This is a wonderful blessing to me. I enjoy learning because it gives me knowledge and ability, and it also prepares me with survival skills. One thing I have appreciated a lot at Emusa is that teachers impact us with discipline and good morals.

Moreover, the school teaches us about God as the Creator of the whole universe, who also is in control over any problems we might face at school.

I would like also to express my gratitude to those who have helped provide me with my scholarship. I feel blessed and the most highly favored in the whole world. I will continue to love God, and trust in Him to help me succeed in my education.  Please pray with me that God will help me overcome challenges which may hinder successful completion of my education.
