A School that is part of ACECEN

Escuela Bautista Nueva Jerusalén is a Christian school situated in San Rafael del Sur, a municipality approximately 50 south west of Managua.  San Rafael del Sur is on the edge of a particularly volatile earthquake region, in a valley full of many rivers and lagoons.  As is the case for much of Nicaragua, it has a rich history of both native and European settler origins, with a lot of Catholic history, influence and tradition.  Its economic base is largely connected to both the limestone found in the area, as well as agriculture.  The town of San Rafael del Sur is one of many Nicaraguan towns that celebrates the bull run on April 20 each year.

Despite being alongside many rivers, there are sever water and sanitation issues in San Rafael del Sur.  Many homes are of traditional dirt or brick floor, with metal roofs, and lack basic housing services such as clean running water.  Most of the water sources in the community are contaminated, because of household use and chemicals used in the farming industry.  One of the services Escuela Bautista Nueva Jerusalén is proud and thankful to be able to share to impact their community is a water purification system.

Escuela Bautista Nueva Jerusalén works hard together with the Nueva Jerusalén Baptist Church as well as ACECEN to implement Christ-centred education and Biblical worldview in their entire education system. The school has an excellent reputation in the community for professional teachers, high quality Christ-centred education, and well-behaved students.  The school implements a sponsorship program for families with financial need, as well as connections to other services to help families meet basic needs.  Nueva Jerusalén has a very positive relationship with the Ministry of Education in the area, and has been thankful to receive financing for facilities and improvements through government grants.

EduDeo Ministries is thankful to be working together with schools like Escuela Bautista Nueva Jerusalén to bring transformation to the children and communities of Nicaragua through quality Christ-centred education.
