A School that is part of ACECEN

Dr. Marcos Mendieta Christian School has a mission to contribute to the technical formation of youth and adults, to train them to enter the job market through quality education and the learning of Christian principles.  This Christian school was founded as a literacy and leadership school in October of 1987 at the request of a group of pastors, leaders and members of churches from the community of León.  It was built on property owned by CEPAD, a Nicaraguan church association. Since then, the school has continued serving their community by also incorporating technical skills, so that their graduates are able to compete in the job market.  In 2000 Dr. Marcos Mendieta Christian School opened as an approved regular high school, from grades 7 to 9, with 34 students.  Year by year it grew, with grades 10 and 11 added.  Since 2002, 150 students have graduated – many of them moving on to colleges and universities.  The primary school opened in 2002 and has since served 193 students.

The school sees an average of 80% of the high school graduates entering into the University.

What is neat is that a number of the students that attend Dr. Marcos Mendieta Christian School are thos of Muslimm faith; yet they read the Bible and participate in all the school activities just as the other students.

The school is proud that it als has its own school music band. The students bring their instruments to practice during free time.

Dr. Marcos Mendieta is different from other schools because they teach Christian values and principles to their teachers and students.  This impacts the teachers as they guide their students, impacts the students as they move on into the job market, and impacts the community as they are influenced by the transformation of the students.
