A School that is part of PCSB

Cornerstone Presbyterian School is situated on a 20 acre campus between San Narciso and Concepcion in Belize. The school was built and opened in 2003, and serves approximately 110 students. The campus consists of three 2-storey classroom buildings, athletics fields, an open-walled assembly area, an observatory, and additional buildings for vocational training.

Cornerstone exists to guide, prepare, and motivate students to glorify God and to positively impact society. They aim to educate their students from a Christ-centred perspective by training dedicated Christian teachers and by developing the whole student – intellectually, physically, socially and spiritually. By providing their students with a holistic education from a Christian world view, they are training them to be effective future Christian leaders in Belize.

Cornerstone has a “co-op” like program where they are able to promote hands on learning.  This fosters greater partnerships within the community as well as increases the exposure and learning of the students.  Opportunities are being explored to partner with a vocational training center for additional experiential learning.

Many of the students at Cornerstone come from low-income families. As a result, staff have learned to be excellent stewards of their limited resources, and often make personal sacrifices to allow the students to have the physical resources to receive an excellent education. They actively show their commitment to modelling and teaching Christian beliefs, values and morals within all subject matters and school activities.
