A School that is part of ACECEN

Bautista Emanuel is a Christ-centered institution that offers preschool, primary and high school.  The desire is to see children and youth shaped with solid knowledge and values that help them meet the challenges of life and able to transform society as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Bautista Emanuel began in 1985, formed from the desire in Pastor Rafael Castro’s heart.  He saw education as an integral part of the solution to children roaming the streets in his neighbourhood.  The Carazo neighbourhood, in the urban area of Diriamba, deals with much poverty, and about half of its population is still illiterate. In the face of this need, Bautista Emanuel was born with the support of missionaries Horst and Andrea Gestemberg.  Andrea began teaching in 1985 with 50 children in attendance.  In 1988 Consuelo Soza was elected as the first principal of Bautista Emanuel.   In 2002 the high school was opened and in 2006 the school celebrated their first high school graduates.   Soza remains the principal of this school, which is now run as a ministry of Emanuel II Baptist Church.  From its humble beginnings, the school has grown to 420 students!

The mission of Bautista Emanuel School is to serve the community of Diriamba with educational programs in preschool, primary, and high school, with an emphasis on the formation of moral and Christian values throughout the educational community.  The values taught are: faith, love of work, honesty, respect, responsibility, fellowship, unity, fraternity, loyalty, and discipline.

Bautista Emanuel has quickly been bursting at the seams, and therefore has seen significant need for facility expansion and improvement.  With classes meeting in the church building as well as the library and staff room, the need for a second floor was prioritized. The combination of community involvement and EduDeo support has enabled the second floor classrooms to be built in record time!

Bautista Emanuel has a large, well-equipped computer lab, which is run by the computer/English teacher and his wife.  The computers are set up on a server to increase the capabilities of the computers.  This teacher works as part of RedProCom, a computer teachers’ network, to benefit not just Bautista Emanuel but many more ACECEN schools.
