Help Us Fill Bags for Belize!

Blog Archives:

Since 2003, 110 eager students have been attending Cornerstone Presbyterian High School near Concepcion, Belize. Teachers at Cornerstone are extremely dedicated to the school's mission of training children to be future Christian leaders in Belize, but, just like many Christian schools here in Canada, they must do this with very limited resources.

Serving mostly low-income families, the school has few funds available for materials or equipment. Often, when teachers need something for a lesson, they will personally purchase them. Working with the absolute minimum, they have learned how to be excellent stewards.

The Cornerstone staff recently drew up a "wish list" of supplies that they would love to receive:

  • Pencil sharpeners (heavy-duty for mounting in classrooms & small individual)
  • Staplers & staples
  • Glue guns & sticks
  • Chalkboard erasers & chalk (white & coloured)
  • White board markers & erasers
  • Stencils (alphabet & numbers)
  • Rulers & geometry sets
  • Scissors (adult & child sizes)
  • Pens (black, blue & red), pencils & permanent markers (variety of colours)
  • Pencil crayons & wax crayons
  • Thumb tacks, paper clips & push pins
  • Rolls of tape (duct, masking & transparent)
  • Rubber bands

Michele Ludwig, a Programs Director at EduDeo Ministries, will be heading to Belize very soon to meet with our partner there and would like to make full use of her luggage allowance by filling up her bags with some of these items. Michele is leaving on the Canada Day long weekend, so if you are in the Hamilton area and would like to contribute any of the listed supplies, please drop them off at our office by Thursday, June 30th at 5pm.

The Cornerstone teachers are also looking for some subject-specific materials like wall maps, atlases, dictionaries & thesauruses, math, science, computer & sports equipment, topical educational DVDs, etc. Please contact our office for more specifics.

Thank you! These materials will greatly bless and encourage our brothers and sisters in Belize!
