Keith and Kristyn Getty - A Night To Remember!

Blog Archives:

Hosted by EduDeo Ministries and Campfire! Bible Camp, modern hymn writers Keith and Kristyn Getty drew a full house of over 2,000 ticketholders to Hamilton Place last night for a sole 2013 Canadian performance of traditional and contemporary hymns.

Originally from Belfast, Ireland, the Getty’s filled the large performance hall with praise and worship, the audience rising to their feet to sing a number of favourite choruses, including the well-known anthem of hope and assurance, ‘In Christ Alone’.

A fundraising concert for EduDeo Ministries and Campfire! Bible Camp, the Hamilton performance included a cast of Irish and American folk musicians and chorus of local voices.

Hank de Jong, Executive Director of EduDeo Ministries, expressed his gratitude for the generosity of the Gettys and their band, Campfire! Bible Camp and all the attendees who purchased tickets for the concert.

“I was humbled and amazed by the support for the concert and for both Campfire! Bible Camp and EduDeo Ministries," noted Hank.

“It was truly an evening of God-glorifying worship and opportunity to support the camping ministry of Campfire and the vision and mission of Christ-centred education in the developing world."

EduDeo Ministries would also like to thank a number of corporate sponsors who supported the event, including gold sponsor Crossroads Television System; silver sponsors Shademaster Landscaping and Janco Steel;  bronze sponsors Cedar Springs Landscape Group and DeVries Landscaping and Maintenance and corporate patrons Palmer Heating & Air Conditioning and Family Christian Bookstore.

The Getty’s latest CD, ‘Keith and Kristyn Getty: Live at the Gospel Coalition’ was available for sale at the performance, as well as a number of other Getty Music resources.  Concert attendees were offered a free copy of the new CD by enrolling in EduDeo Ministries’ sponsorship program at the ministry booth in Hamilton Place’s main foyer.

A number of special guests were in attendance at the concert, including Zambian guests, Rev. Peter Chipeta and Boniface Mumba, representing EduDeo Ministries Zambian school partner, the Education Department of the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP).

The Getty’s appeared on 100 Huntley Street earlier in the day for an interview and pre-taped studio performance.
