Global Notebook – Nehemiah Center, Nicaragua

Blog Archives:

EduDeo Ministries’ Eastern Development Director, Michael Zwiep, has been documenting the ongoing effort of the Nehemiah Center (Centro Nehemias) and Nicaraguan Association of Christian Schools (ACECEN) to reach children with Christ-centred education in the second-poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.

Notebook and camera in hand, the field visit has given the Development Director a first-hand opportunity to witness the ministry and work of ACECEN at several member schools across Nicaragua, including schools in Esteli, Matagalpa, El Tuma-La Dalia, Ciudad Sandino, Monte Fresco and Managua.

“I am amazed at the passion and dedication of ACECEN administrators and educators as they bring Gospel transformation to various communities throughout Nicaragua,” the Eastern Development Director noted while meeting with team leaders at the Nehemiah Center in Nejapa.

“These schools are beacons of hope in an emerging nation rich with natural resources and human capital.”

A liaison with EduDeo’s support community, the Development Director has accompanied Nehemiah Center staff members Lennin Zamora, Lester Rodriguez and Pablo Meléndez on six school visits since Monday as well as joining ACECEN facilitators during a number of training sessions.

“My desire is to share the stories of children and Christian educators in Nicaragua with our Canadian partners,” Zwiep stressed.

“Our support community needs to know their support for the Nehemiah Center and ACECEN is making a real and tangible difference in the lives of children in Nicaragua.”

Committed to a Biblically-integrated approach to the classroom, ACECEN includes more than one hundred member schools across the Central American country.

On the ground in Nicaragua since Monday, August 27, Zwiep hopes to return to Canada by the end of the week, inspired to make the case for Christian education in Nicaragua.

Espero haberle ayudado.

Gracias,

Lennin
