An Urgent Call to Prayer

Blog Archives:

Psalm 68:19 – “Praise be to the Lord, to God our Saviour, who daily bears our burdens.”

One month ago, we called you to raise up Nicaragua and its people in your prayers. Since then, the burdens of pain, violence, corruption and fear have continued and grown.

The Roman Catholic Church in Nicaragua has initiated peace talks between the government and opposition groups. While these talks offer a glimmer of hope for peace and justice, we are anguished for the violence that continues all across the country.

EduDeo and its Nicaraguan partners firmly believe that education rooted in Christ’s Gospel of peace and reconciliation are foundational to a future where children and families do not fear leaving their homes or fear their government. A future that is filled with the light of Christ.

Will you join with us in praying – in pleading to God – for this future? For the children, families and communities of Nicaragua?

  • Pray for our ministry partners – Nilda, Lesther and the ACECEN staff.
  • Pray for the principals, teachers and students whose school year has been disrupted by the violence.
  • Pray for the success of ongoing peace talks.
  • Pray for the families of those who have lost their lives.

Please know that EduDeo continues to stay in constant communication with our partners in Nicaragua. We are closely monitoring the situation and how it will affect all our current and future work in Nicaragua.

Note: Immanuel Christian Reformed Church (61 Mohawk Rd W, Hamilton, ON) is hosting a prayer get together on Monday, June 25 at 7 p.m. All are welcome.
