Communications Coordinator Opportunity

EduDeo Ministries is looking to hire a full-time Communications Coordinator to cover a maternity leave. Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Communications Coordinator is responsible for the creation of high-quality communication pieces for EduDeo Ministries.

Job Description

Position Goals:

  • To inform EduDeo’s support community of ministry activities and needs through attractive and captivating communication pieces.
  • To lead EduDeo staff in the coordination of strategic awareness-raising events.

Description of Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Communications: (70%)

a) Create excellent communication pieces that share ministry stories and needs with EduDeo’s support community via various communication platforms.

  • Design and finalize stories and information for print and electronic media.
  • Develop and maintain an intentional and engaging online presence (manage EduDeo’s website, utilize e-newsletters, communicate through social media, etc).

b) Work with the Marketing Director to develop and implement an effective marketing and development plan for EduDeo (newsletters, major donor updates, program updates, fundraising appeals, event promotions, program brochures, proposals, videos, promotional items, etc).

c) Reinforce a consistent brand message through visually appealing materials to support and promote the programs and initiatives of EduDeo.

2. Events: (20%)

  • Assist with the the implementation of Fundraising events and initiatives.
  • Coordinate volunteers, staff and logistics for events such as Road2Hope, concerts, etc.

3. Organization: (10%)

  • Be an active member of the Marketing & Development Team.
  • Be an active participant in team meetings, etc.
  • Provide assistance, as requested, at various significant organizational events.
  • Continue to grow through professional development opportunities.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • A university-level degree in Design, Communications, and/or Marketing or a related field.
  • Experience in communications, marketing and/or fundraising is an asset.
  • Must be a citizen of Canada

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (required)
  • graphic design experience an asset
  • experience with print production process
  • proficient in web communications and social media
  • experience with web design (HTML, CSS, etc)
  • self-motivated and takes initiative
  • works well within a team environment
  • flexible and able to multitask
  • understands marketing / fundraising strategy and implementation
  • cross-cultural experience is an asset

Reporting Structure:  The Communications Coordinator will report to the Marketing Director.
