The Gift of Christmas - Mbabose

Blog Archives:

This Christmas, we're celebrating two of life's greatest gifts - the Good news of Jesus Christ, and a quality education - by sharing stories of students who have been transformed through Christ-centred education.

The first student is a young man named Mbabose (You may have read his story in our latest newsletter).

To satisfy his heart’s hunger, Mbabose drank, romanced younger girls, smoked, and skipped school. His talent and potential, his bright future was imploding as the vacuum in his heart drove him deeper into addiction and despair.

That was when Mbabose met Jesus Christ.

Mbabose began attending Mwase Day Secondary School, a partner school in Zambia. During school assemblies and in the classroom, Mbabose learned about Jesus’ uncompromising love.

Hungry for more, Mbabose joined the school’s ‘Scripture Union’. He started attending a church, making friends with other teenagers who loved and followed Jesus.

All the while, Mbabose’s teachers poured love into his life. “My teachers were so loving, caring, and very committed,” Mbabose says.  Mr. Simumba, one of Mbabose’s teachers, let the teenager stay at his house – even paying part of his school fees.

As Jesus filled Mbabose’s heart, his life changed: he stopped drinking beer. Quit smoking. Started treating girls with respect. He was transformed from ring-leader to Christ follower.

If you want to see more children transformed (as Mbabose was) - the best way is for you to become a sponsor. We've set a goal for December: find 20 new sponsors before the end of the year! This Christmas share gospel + transformation and become an EduDeo Sponsor!
